Dallas County GOP chairman announces run for the House

By Jason Clayworth – Des Moines Register

Rob Taylor, the chairman of the Dallas County Republicans, has announced his candidacy for the Iowa House.

Taylor, of West Des Moines, will run in 2012 for House District 44, which has no incumbent due to redistricting that the legislature approved earlier this year. The district includes parts of West Des Moines, Clive and Waukee.

Taylor, who will conclude the Dallas County chairmanship on Aug. 13, said his focus as a legislative candidate will be on job creation, growing the economy as well as lowering business and corporate income taxes.

Taylor is a sales director for a petroleum distributor in central Iowa. He and his wife Christi, an internist with The Iowa Clinic, have four children.
